Subcommittees

The steering committees have been struck to support a variety of themes and areas of focus for UBC to advance the understanding, application and use of Generative AI within UBC’s context.

  • Generate guidelines around generative Al in teaching and learning, which may include both student and faculty use
  • Provide input on approaches to communicating information and guidelines to faculty and students about the use of generative Al
  • Assess use cases involving tools that simulate conversations with human users
  • Provide input on approaches to communicating information and guidelines to faculty and students about the use of generative Al
  • Exploring the possibility of creating university specific LLMs
  • Identify ways we can either embed or extend the existing foundation models to include UBC specific content
  • Develop guidelines for the responsible use of Generative AI in graduate education.
  • Identify strategies for the use of Generative AI in various graduate education activities, addressing opportunities, challenges, ethical considerations, and risks.
